I am a member of the Kiowa Tribe of Oklahoma. In my art I try to capture a time of transition of my tribe's journey from a nomadic tribe to contemporary life.

It is not a new experience in human history. It has happened many times before whenever one dominating culture has invaded the territory of another - the result is always a great loss for both the invader and the dispossessed; by taking dishonestly we rob not only the victim but also something from ourselves.

Through my art I attempt to illustrate this transition time from the Old Order to the New Order and how, with success or failure, with grief or with humor, with loss and inheritance this gulf was bridged.
